On Wednesday 14 October at 6 pm at the Casa dei Tre Oci there will be a special Aperitivo Fotografico with the Artistic Director Denis Curti, on the occasion of the presentation of his latest book "Capire la fotografia contemporanea. Guida pratica all'arte del futuro" (Understanding contemporary photography. A practical guide to the art of the future) with Paolo Coltro.

Between seeing, receiving the immediate message, and looking at a photo, observing its style, context and artistic value against the light, the difference is subtle but essential, and it is the same that distinguishes an amateur shot from a work of art. In a world pervaded by images that demand our attention, whether on Instagram, on a billboard or in a museum, this exercise of attention and selection has become even more complex. For over a century, the use of images as a means of communication has in fact revolutionized our way of observing reality, of repudiating war or enhancing it, of longing for an unknown object or body. At the same time, almost as a paradox, the history of photography, its protagonists and its market have become more and more the prerogative of experts and enthusiasts year after year. To bridge this distance Denis Curti, thanks to his thirty years of experience as a curator, has drawn a map to orient himself in the panorama of contemporary photography, offering the reader a practical manual to understand the more concrete aspects of an expanding market, from collecting to the work of agencies; a long gallery of meetings with great masters such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Luigi Ghirri, Ferdinando Scianna, Letizia Battaglia and David LaChapelle; a historical account of what photography has been up to now, and a test of imagination on what paths it will take in the future thanks to the potential offered by digital.

The Casa dei Tre Oci exceptionally opens to the public on one of the two weekly closing days for an extraordinary photographic aperitif!

On Tuesday 22 November from 7 pm (entry until 7.30 pm) with a special reduced ticket for 9 euros, including admission and consumption of the aperitif signed Distilleria Nardini 1779, it will be possible to visit the Jacques Henri Lartigue exhibition and participate in the inauguration of the exhibition in the Sale De Maria of "Strati di tempo in the Church of Sant'Agnese", the new photographic project entrusted by the Peruzzo Foundation to Marco Maria Zanin.
