Welcome to The Geometry of Resilience: Arts & Climate Health Panel!
A unique meeting between photography, art and science to explore the connection between creativity, health and climate resilience.
Organized by Le Stanze della Fotografia in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and IAMWILD®, the event takes place in Venice, a city symbolizing both fragility and strength, at a crucial moment of global reflection on the challenges posed by climate change.
At the heart of the discussion is the exhibition 30 years. The Wild Horses of Sable Island by Roberto Dutesco, a project that brings into dialogue two places seemingly far apart: the wild dunes of Sable Island, off the coast of Nova Scotia, and the lagoon of Venice. Both share an average elevation of just 3.3 feet above sea level, a critical threshold that makes them particularly vulnerable—yet also extraordinary examples of adaptation and resilience.
The event program, which will be in English, will open with speeches by Denis Curti, member of the Scientific Committee of Le Stanze della Fotografia, Roberto Dutesco, artist and founder of IAMWILD®, and Anthony Williams, producer of the documentary The Wild Horses of Sable Island, who will present the film before its screening.
This will be followed by The Arts & Climate Health Panel, moderated by Dr. Dahlia Rizk, Medicine Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, featuring Roberto Dutesco, Dr. Nisha Sajnani from NYU, Jane Da Mosto, founder of We are here Venice, and Pier Luigi Sacco, behavioral economist and senior advisor at the OECD.
A cross-disciplinary dialogue drawing on a new World Health Organization policy brief on the role of the arts and culture in addressing the health impacts of climate change and the shared resilience of Sable Island and Venice.
The event will conclude with an aperitivo, a moment of exchange and networking designed to deepen the role of art as a universal language capable of raising awareness, inspiring and promoting concrete actions for the protection of the planet.
A special opportunity to discover how beauty and creativity can become powerful tools in building a more sustainable future.
Admission is free, but seats are limited. Book your place and join this moment of reflection and inspiration.
